| Thousands of devotees have gathered in Mathura to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna.
At Mathura and Vrindavan, which is the land of Krishna, festivities began with the midnight aarti on Monday night in temples all over, while aartis have been scheduled in various temples.
And in Mumbai, the celebrations as always are boisterous and colourful.
This year, all women's group took on the men and broke the Dahi handi near Sena Bhavan in Mumbai's Dadar area around midnight on Monday.
