| KARUR: A total of 34 Vinayaga idols put up by Hindu organisations and devotees in several places across Karur district were immersed in the Cauvery on Monday.
A total of 99 idols were installed all over the district.
While seven idols were immersed on Saturday, 50 more were immersed in the Cauvery and the Amaravathy on Sunday. The rest are slated for immersion on Tuesday. The festivities and “visarjana” rallies passed off peacefully.
