| The DMK led Democratic Progressive Alliance is meeting in Chennai on Monday to discuss the Setusamudram issue.
The allies are likely to formulate a strategy to push through the controversial 2230 crore rupees project and tackle the opposition from the BJP over the Ram Setu.
Union Shipping Minister T R Baalu has made it clear that any other alignment to save what the BJP calls the Ram Setu, believed to have been built by Lord Ram`s monkey army will be ecologically disastrous.
Chief Minister Karunanidhi`s recent remarks on Lord Ram had created a furore resulting in a fatwa against him and a violent retaliation by DMK workers who ransacked the BJP Headquarters in Chennai on Sunday.
However, late on Sunday evening Karunanidhi said, the protests will only be against attempts to stall the project and not against the BJP
