| Arthur road jail, infamous for its internal gang wars, is now a picture of communal harmony as different faiths unite in a bid to blur the communal divide.
With Ganeshotsav and Ramazan on at the same time, the inmates have found some unique ways to celebrate.
Hindu inmates perform Ganesh puja in the mornings with their Muslim mates. And in the evening, its time for the Muslims to break the fast with their Hindu brothers.
Jail authorities say the combined celebrations have led to a decrease in hostilities.
''Whatever internal issues the inmates have, they forget about them at this time and help each other. The feeling of brotherhood continues long after,'' said Shyamkant Shedge, Jailor.
The Ganesh idols will be immersed in water tanks provided by the jail with most inmates hoping that their sins will be washed away as well.
