The political stalemate in Karnataka has now shifted to New Delhi with both the warring parties- JD(S) and the BJP- holding crucial meetings.
BJP's top brass will meet today, while the central leadership of the JD(S) has scheduled a meeting for Friday.
BJP is sincerely hoping that the JD(S) will honour its side of the coalition arrangement to hand over power.
''We performed our responsibility. I hope they also perform it. They wanted some time and wanted to discuss it. We also need to discuss it at the national level. We are going to discuss it with the Parliamentary Board.
''It is a question of time. Tomorrow, day after and after that, Yediyurappa will be the Chief Minister of Karnataka,'' said Venkaiah Naidu, leader, BJP.
As the two parties go into a huddle, the focus is on the likelihood of a last-minute reconciliation between the BJP and the JD(S) and on whether South India will get its first BJP chief minister.
