Indian Air Force completes 75 yrs |
Transport fleet includes, the Avro, the AN-32, the IL-76, Dornier, Boeing 737 and Embraer planes.

The Indian Air Force has turned 75 on Monday, completing a long journey from humble beginnings to the fourth largest air force.
It all began in 1932 when six Indian cadets were granted commission as officers, while 19 airmen were inducted and termed, Hawai sepoys.
Initially, the Indian Air Force had just four Westland Wapiti aircraft in its inventory and its modernisation began post independence.
Vampires became the first jet combat aircraft in the IAF's fleet in the 1950s.
The first supersonic jets, MiG 21s were acquired in the early 1960s and the MiG23, 25, 27 and 29 were inducted in the 1980s and the Jaguars and Mirage in 2000.
India's most potent fighter aircraft is the Sukhoi-30 MKI.
Helicopters include the Cheetah, Chetak, the Mi-8, M-17, Mi-25 and Mi-35 besides Advanced light helicopter and the giant Mi-26.
