| Bihar girls turn to self-defence |
| Parents too are happy that their daughters are learning karate for self-defence.

| Fed up with eve teasing, girls in Muzaffarpur in Bihar are taking karate classes to counter and teach roadside Romeos a lesson.
''We are learning karate to become strong and defend ourselves. We will resort to karate when we are being harassed,'' said Nikita Kumari, student.
Parents too are happy that their daughters are learning karate for self-defence.
''It is good that my daughter is learning karate. She will be able to fight back in difficult circumstances,'' said Shailendra Kumar Mishra, a parent.
The girls are being trained by a woman who has made it her mission to ensure that the girls take care of themselves.
''They should become self-reliant and protect themselves. Village girls face a lot of problems when they go out. People trouble them,'' said Ranjita, Karate trainer.
By electing to learn karate, the girls have sent out a message that they will no longer tolerate harassment
