A Delhi police team carried guns, tear gas, grenades and dummy bombs in their pockets and wafer packets inside malls and multiplexes across Delhi in a bid to expose huge security lapses.
At five malls and eight cinema halls in west Delhi, policemen dressed as civilians walked through security checks with guns and explosives. The 12 problem spots included: Shopper's Stop and City Square at Rajouri Garden.
The management of malls and cinemas admit they are re-examining their arrangements.
Public places are meant to have trained guards doing thorough body checks. But the fact that this does not happen has got the experts worried.
Delhi has been on high alert for weeks after the recent explosions in Ajmer and Ludhiana and it's clear that the city has to take every precaution to ensure its safety.
