Firefighters heaved a sigh of relief as Diwali passed off with no major accidents in the capital even as they received about 150 calls of minor incidents.
Fire stations across the capital received 147 telephone calls on Friday and there were no major accidents reported, fire brigade officials said on Saturday.
''Almost all calls were related to fire caused due to bursting of crackers,'' they said.
A minor fire was reported at an office storeroom on the eighth floor of Vijaya Building in the busy Connaught Place area on Friday afternoon and was doused in 15 minutes.
In a special arrangement on the occasion of the festival of lights, the Delhi Fire Services had deployed 225 fire tenders equipped with wireless communication facility across the city to fight any fire mishaps.
The fire tenders were deployed at 16 locations apart from fire stations and 150 out of the total 225 were water carriers.
Police and municipal authorities had issued strict instructions to market associations and fire cracker vendors to follow norms to avoid any fire related incidents.
