| Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee's will visit Nandigram today. Her visit comes after Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi's tour to the troubled area on Sunday.
Mamata last attempted to go there on October 28, and her supporters alleged that they were fired upon by followers of the CPI(M). This visit comes barely weeks after the state government called the CRPF into the area to help restore order.
The Trinamool Congress has announced plans to hold a rally there. The authorities have tightened security arrangements in the area in view of the rally call.
