There was no getting away from it, with campaigning due to end soon. Allegations and counter-allegations on terror are in the air at every rally.

In Gujarat where campaigning is at fever pitch, the final phase of polling is on Sunday. Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee published a newspaper appeal asking Gujarat to vote for the Modi government's performance but the big theme of political speeches today still remained terrorism.
Perhaps, it was felt another leader would take the focus away from Modi.
And that's why a far more prominent advertisement featuring the chief minister was also published just 48 hours before the second phase of polling in Gujarat.
And Modi on the 6th anniversary of the Parliament attack brought the focus back to the number one issue in these elections - terror.
There was no getting away from it, with campaigning due to end soon. Allegations and counter-allegations on terror are in the air at every rally.
''They have been talking about terror but I want to ask them why Jaswant Singh himself took a terrorist to Afghanistan and let him off there,'' said Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson, UPA.
While, leader of opposition in Parliament and BJP's prime ministerial candidate LK Advani raked up the Afzal issue.
''I want to ask the UPA why Afzal has not been hanged even after the Supreme Court verdict and so many years after the attack? asked L K Advani, Senior BJP leader.
Clearly, in the heat of the elections, claims on development have melted away and terror is the only language the politicians are speaking.
