Students given electric shocks
The shocks, though not very strong, spread panic among the students who complained to the parents.
 INDIA , 19-December-2007  2:15:7 AM
A teacher in a Bhusawal, a town in Maharashtra punished 22 students with electric shocks.

The shocks were administered with an eliminator connected to wires in the physics laboratory of the school.

The shocks, though not very strong, spread panic among the students who complained to the parents.

''The teacher said he had been in jail for two months and had come to spread terror,'' said a student.

The students were taken to a local hospital the next day after they complained to their parents.

''The teacher warned students that he would hit them if they told anybody,'' said a parent of a school teacher.

The teacher Sukant Mishra has been arrested for ''causing hurt by dangerous weapons'' and ''criminal intimidation'' and is in the custody of a magistrate.
