| Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who underwent an open heart surgery at a private hospital in Bangalore, is recovering satisfactorily and will be shifted out of the ICU today.
''He is eating normally, is cheerful. To avoid isolation, all his family members have been allowed to meet him often,'' said Dr Vivek Jawali, who headed the eight member team that performed the surgery.
Kumaraswamy has been spending most of his time reading, watching television and listening to music, he said.
''Most probably by end of this week, he should be home. However, the exact date of his discharge will be decided after reviewing his progress in the next two days,'' he added.
Kumaraswamy, 49, underwent a valve replacement surgery on December 20.
