| No headway in Samjhauta blastsprobe |
| He said the investigators were hoping to crack the case in 2008.

| The Haryana Police on Friday admitted that the probe into the Samjhauta Express blasts near Panipat in February this year had reached a dead end with no headway beyond the arrest of three persons in Madhya Pradesh.
''The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was formed to probe the blasts, had arrested three persons at Indore in Madhya Pradesh who had supplied the suitcases used in the blasts. But after that there had been no breakthrough,'' Director General of Haryana Police P R S Dalal told reporters here.
He said the investigators were hoping to crack the case in 2008.
At his year-end press conference, Dalal said the three taken into custody were the owner of the suitcase shop and two of its employees.
A senior police officer involved with the probe, however, told reporters that the police had recently got the narco analysis test of the three done at Bangalore.
It was suspected that that the three may be hiding the information regarding the purchasers of the suitcases, the officer said adding the report of the test was awaited.
''We are very sad on the Samjhauta Express probe reaching a dead end after the Indore link. We have not left it at it. Some teams are still working and we hope to break the case in 2008,'' Dalal said.
He said the CBI had declined to take over the investigation of the case for which the state police had made a request due to inter-state ramifications. CBI said that it could not take over the probe as it was over burdened.
Sixty-eight passengers were killed when explosions took place in the Delhi-Attari Express which links with the Lahore bound Samjhauta Express from Attari railway station near the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar district.
