North India reels under cold wave

 INDIA , 4-February-2008  2:56:22 AM
Though the temperature has increased by a few degrees, cold wave conditions continue in several parts of North India.

The Jammu-Srinagar highway is closed after heavy snowfall at the Jawahar tunnel. It's still snowing in Srinagar and in the hilly areas of Kashmir.

Though primary schools in Chandigarh continue to remain closed due to the cold, its back to the grind for thousands of primary school children in Delhi.

Smaller children had been given a 3-day break due to an unusually cold spell.

While the temperature in the capital has increased by a few degrees the conditions are still chilly.
