They have named him Jeevan, a symbol of life. His is a life that is now the responsibility of his relatives, some of whom are seeing the two-month old for the first time.
''He is the only symbol of our brother. We cannot give him for adoption,'' said Mastool, uncle.
''If anyone wants to help, they can help the child. We do not need anything,'' he added.
The family on Wednesday got support from others who have survived a blueline trauma. Rajesh a property dealer lost one year of his life after he was hit by a blueline.
''Without money, you will not be able to do anything,'' said Rajesh Verma, President, Blueline Victims' Association.
The Blueline Victims Association hopes to raise more funds for little Jeevan, as he makes his journey home.
He will soon be back with his grandparents in north Bengal, but as he leaves Delhi, he takes back with him prayers that he will be able to live a life his parents dreamt for him.
