| British teenager Scarlett Keeling was murdered after she was heavily drugged and repeatedly raped.
The Goa Police said that they have cracked the case after one of the men arrested has confessed to his role in the killing of the 15-year-old British national.
Thursday's confession comes from Samson D'Souza the first person to be arrested in connection with the case.
Samson confessed of drugging Keeling and dumping her in shallow water after sexually abusing her, says police.
According to the police, the teenager died after repeated sexual assault by at least two men, if not more.
One of them is drug dealer Placido Carvalho alias Shannaboy, who was arrested on Wednesday night, after Samson's confession. Carvalho will appear in court on Thursday, where police will apply to detain him for questioning for 14 days.
According to sources, the police is also investigating the way some senior officers tried to scuttle the probe and have suspended one policemen who was a part of the original investigation.
A viscera test will be done on Thursday at the Kalina Lab in Mumbai to get some more clues on the case.
On their part, the Goa Police said its investigations reveal that the British teen-aged girl Scarlett Keeling died due to drug overdose and drowning in beach water.
Keeling's mother Fiona McKeon has been demanding a CBI inquiry alleging that the Goa Police deliberately botched up the investigations.
She says, even the latest development is another attempt at a cover-up.
Scarlett Keeling was found dead on Goa's Anjuna beach three weeks ago.
However, consistent pressure from Scarlett's mother Fiona and the media forced the Goa government to reinvestigate the case and carry out a second autopsy on her body
