| |
In depth knowledge of DBMS Oracle 8, Oracle 9, and Oracle 10 products, related utilities and tools.
? Be able to independently perform analysis and support of moderately complex midrange databases using utilities and internet/intranet-related tools.
? Ability to understand physical database design.
? Knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery utilities including tools like RMAN, Sqlbacktrack, import, and export.
? Ability to perform database deployments using Release Management tools (Dimensions or Clearcase) and Operating Systems commands at a level proficient and related experience with UNIX (Solaris, HPUX, or Linux), Windows 2000, or Windows Server 2003 products.
? Experience with Database monitoring and performance tools, for example Precise and STATSPAK.
? Ability to effectively and clearly communicate to various support teams.
? Ability to clearly and concisely explain complex details to Tier 2 & 3 support personnel, such as IGS production DBA team, as well as respond to the Bridge for SWATs during production outages.
? Ability to coordinate infrastructure changes (upgrades, patches, maintenance, etc.) with various support teams.
? General understanding of application alarming concepts and standards. Familiar with the configuration and management alarming tools such as Service Layer, Sentry, or Site Scope.
? Ability to give specific alarming requirements to production support personnel.
