Some quality assurance Engineers work directly with customers who are experiencing problems with software they have purchased. In these cases, they listen to customers' complaints and try to understand what sequence of commands led to the problem that is being reported. They then try to duplicate the problem in the lab in order to conduct more in-depth tests and diagnose the bug.

Excellent knowledge on the operational aspects of the Windows Operating System.
Unix and Linux experience a plus but not required.
Ability to Automate the testing of Application Programming interfaces(APIs), frameworks( WhiteBox Testing)
Knowledge of XML, Webservcies, Java & .Net technologies.
Ability to Write test scripts in scripting languages like Perl/Shell scripts.
