| |
Collaborates with diverse stakeholder groups, and functions as the clinical point-person, in all aspects of the life cycle of clinical information systems implementation to transform the Client clinical practices in accordance with strategic business objectives
• Identifies workflow and process changes that will enhance the use of nursing and clinical information systems; ensures existing and future information systems facilitate clinical practice, delivery of safe patient care and are consistent with clinical practice standards.
• Works in partnership with leadership and staff to translate clinical requirements into specifications for nursing and clinical information systems; evaluates the impact the information systems have on user workflow
• Serves as a liaison between clinicians and IT professionals to facilitate a common understanding of the clinical standards and process improvement activities across multidisciplinary teams throughout the lifecycle of clinical systems implementations and maintenance activities.
• Incumbents are also accountable for; maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the field of Nursing and Healthcare Informatics, as well as new developments in hardware and software technology; maintaining up-to-date knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory standards, and organizational direction
• Acts as a supporter and change agent for clinicians to ensure maximum benefit of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and compliance with federal and state regulations; conveys information regarding the system and its impact on existing standards, processes and forms in such a way as to gain consensus for new ways of doing business and support to effectively implement those decisions.
