| |
The Telephone Installation Technician will be responsible for the phone installation and removal. In addition it will ensure a good customer experience with the installation of the new DTRA Unified Communications VoIP System.
Must be able to understand and follow detailed method of procedures. Duties include but are not limited to installing and removing legacy telephone equipment, testing equipment, as well as performing a site survey. This is a temporary job that may lapse for 8-12 weeks; ability to work outside of normal business hours (ie: shift work) as dictated by project requirements. General knowledge of wire line equipment installation and basic testing methods. Ability to interpret and perform tasks outlined in installation procedures, vendor documentation, technical specifications, and job aids. Knowledge of telephony networks, and various IP networks. Ability to identify all colors associated with telecommunications cable and equipment indicator lights. Dexterity to connect and disconnect various sizes and types of electronic connectors. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25lbs independently. Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environments. A valid
driver's license and reliable transportation is required. Working knowledge of computer hardware/software fundamentals with skills and knowledge in Microsoft office product lines, Excel, Vizio, Outlook, and Lync and have general savvy experience with a laptop. Written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Intermediate to Expert computer literacy skills.
