|
•Assist in the implementation of rules and guidelines for utilizing managed tools to track and store data associated with Network/System/Software/Application changes. Provide training and assistance to customer base to ensure proper/consistent usage of tools and processes. Identify, Track, and Control all new and existing configuration items (CI) including hardware, software, documentation and other infrastructure items. Utilize Rational to manage version control, secure access control, work space management, and parallel development of enhancements to existing Cis.
•Maintain configuration baselines and comply with the change management process for CM changes. Ensure enhancements adhere to the change control process, and that changes are authorized, documented, and coordinated. Additionally, provide reports on all open, closed, pending, and deferred CRs; coordinate and monitor the implementation of all approved CRs/enhancements; facilitate change control board meetings including preparing agendas, recording votes and updating CM database with statuses and outcomes. Provide senior level expertise in the Rational Tool Suite Components (ClearQuest, ClearCase, and RequisitePro) to assist in populating, maintaining and updating project information. Ensure all documentation is maintained and updated including: system administration guides, installation guides, help documentation, disaster recovery plan updates, etc. Notably included in this subtask is the development of Configuration Plans based on industry best practices. Assist in functional, physical, process and post-deployment audits designed to provide independent confirmation that product development and process execution adhere the organizational standards, guidelines, specifications, and procedures. Validate CIs against the required physical and functional characteristics. Utilize BMC Footprints software for the creation and management of CR’s replacing the use of PVCS tracker. |
