| |
In-depth technical knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, CPT coding conventions, DRG and APC assignment, medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
* Maintains knowledge of coding and billing requirements and regulatory changes and acts as a resource to colleagues and clients
* Maintains a 95% or higher coding accuracy rate
* Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a clinical setting
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working for a consulting company
* BA or BS degree in respective specialty area preferred.
* At least one credential is required, based upon experience:
o RHIA: Registered Health Information Administrator
o RHIT: Registered Health Information Technician
o RN: Registered Nurse (with coding credential)
o CCS: Certified Coding Specialist
o CPC: Certified Professional Coder
