Speaking in industry terms, this is a significant data integration effort (some might refer to as an ODS layer) containing many metrics, to feed into a periodic time-variant management reporting and analysis environment structured for OLAP analytics, which we will require be aggregated along various hierarchies. This management reporting repository (likely to include a relational ODS and a dimensional star schema) is to be the single source of truth for all management reporting within our North America Compliance organization.
The project is in the early stages, having started from scratch. There is currently no consolidated data source for this requirement. It is planned to be a multi-phase program. It has some firm external / regulatory milestone dates; some deliverables will be provided manually until the permanent solution is built. The effort is in initiation phase, and so the team roster is today primarily business sponsorship at the highest levels, PMs, Compliance application architects, senior technicians, Senior Consultants, and some Cognos and Oracle experts; this Solution Architect role is critical to defining the rest of the technology and subsequent team skill set requirements.
