Enterprise Data Architect
Performed consulting functions for Ciber’s client (Major Retail Grocer ) using Oracle, AIX, ER-WIN, Designer 6i .
Project was an assessment of an existing Data Warehousing Architecture and creating a new re-engineered solution of reporting needs from Enterprise Data Warehouse.
The first phase was a design of overall architecture as well as detail analysis and design Point of Sales Retail Module.
Responsibilities included Overall architecture review, Methodology assessment, Data Modeling and Data Architecture. Conducted proof of concept that provided data related to technical feasibility and load window of load of Point of Sale transaction log data (13 GB pack decimal raw data per day). Technical challenge was to optimize processing a transaction log data (coming from cashier terminals) stored in proprietary IBM record format in order to populate data warehouse dimensional structure.
Target data warehousing capacity was >25TB of raw data over 5 years.
In addition to responsibilities listed above, I participated in Business requirements sessions and Data Mapping reviews.

Principal Data Architect
Designed and implemented a data warehouse which consists of six data marts, and is an integral part of major software release on .NET environment for CEI customer (Major Sourcing software and hosting company). The data warehouse supports all globalization features: multiple languages, currencies, time zones; and can be sourced by up to 160 symmetric data sources. SQL Server 2000 was used as a back end in association with DTS ETL and Business Objects front end integrated with a .NET application.
Performed ORACLE and ADO.NET performance tuning for Data mining solution for customer spend visibility analysis, using Oracle 9i RAC, DecisionStream and Cognos/Analysis Services.

Duties included project management, account management, pre-sales activities, personnel management, career management and counseling, and allocation for data warehousing practice. Created reporting structure, methodology and standards for data warehousing practice including design, estimating guidelines, and templates. Led pre-sales activities, discovery projects, and managed a multi-million dollar engagement for TMP client. Data warehouse consisted of 2.5 terabyte of data and was running on Oracle 9i on SUN Sunfire platform.
In 2001 practice profitability exceeded 200% to plan.
