PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Claims processing is a core process of Institutional Business and involves the processing, adjudication and payment of claims. These processes were carried out using a combination of manual procedures and the GLIF (Group Life) Claims Payment system. The Benefits Information Operating Solution (BIOS) program has been initiated to automate most of the business process. This helped to move away from the current manual processes of the GLIF Claims Payment platform to the automated ATLAS/Ingenium platform. ATLAS system is built on Ingenium Platform to take care of the Enrollment process for Group Life. Developing the Claims Processing in ATLAS/Ingenium platform would enable sharing of enrollment information at the time of Claims processing.
Through the implementation of the T&P (Total & Permanent) Disability Migration project, T&P claims will also be processed in the existing Death Claims System.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY IN THE PROJECT
„Ï Requirement Analysis of T&P system that is being re-platformed from COBOL-VSAM platform to Ingenium Platform
„Ï Estimation of all requirements from Technical Design to Unit Testing
„Ï Resolve Technical / Functional issues
„Ï SCM Co-ordination and peer review of deliverables
„Ï Design and document specifications for new Ingenium front end modules (P-steps, S-steps, Flow files) and Ingenium back end processes (Process drivers, Function drivers, IO modules, MIR copybooks) for the ATLAS application.
„Ï Preparation & review of Test Procedures and Test Logs
„Ï System testing / UAT support including debugging and tracking defects
„Ï Project management activities - Assigning tasks to the Offshore Team and Tracking it to Completion, Estimation of each Technical Design, and metrics collection

Life Convergence project involved addition of new Group Universal Life Coverages into ATLAS system. This was achieved by customizing the existing ATLAS system to accommodate various business processes associated with the new Coverages. Cognizant was responsible for analysis, coding, preparing Unit test plans and testing for the new Universal Life Coverages. This project also involved Real time Coverages Write ¡V Enabling Coverages to be written through batch jobs, to the ATLAS system during the day time, even when the online is running.
